MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy
15 Hours per Week – Permanent
We are looking for a competent, driven professional to join our increasing First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) team.
This post will be based within Chippenham, Corsham and Box PCN, covering 5 GP surgeries.
The FCP service in this PCN has been well established for 2.5 years. You will join a team of FCP’s for support and be part of an increasing multidisciplinary team contributing to daily triage and urgent pathways.
FCPs are qualified autonomous clinical practitioners who can assess, diagnose, and manage MSK problems and undifferentiated conditions, and where appropriate, discharge a person without a medical referral. You need to be a self-motivated person, keen to take part in data collection and evaluation of this exciting opportunity for developing advanced practitioners in physiotherapy.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent assessment and clinical reasoning skills that this post will require, within a variety of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and general health conditions. Good communication skills with a variety of people, conditions and within demanding situations will be an asset.Experience of electronic patient records and telephone triage will be an advantage.
You will join a friendly and supportive team of other physiotherapy and primary care staff and will have close links with the MSK service in Wiltshire. We have a well-structured supervision plan and competency framework in place. You will be supported to work towards the new HEE Roadmap to Practice through supervision from the FCP Implementation Leads, GP mentor and regular peer support. The trust actively supports CPD funding. This role is developmental post and you will be supported to work through the competencies; there may be further opportunity for advanced Practice competency development to a Band 8a.
