Family Key Worker Job description

Part Time (18.5 hours per week)/Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen in The Family Network Team (formerly the Reunification Team), in the role of a Family Key Worker.

You will work directly with families when children are being reunified with their parents, after being in care. You will undertake one to one parenting work, using evidence-based parenting interventions. You will chair multi-agency meetings in which reunification plans will be made for a child. You work closely with colleagues in the Family Network Team as well as others in the wider service.

The aim of the team is to provide support through and following the transition back home aiming to achieve stability and permanency for children.

The work of the team is varied involving providing emotional, practical and parenting support to families both on an individual, family and group basis. The team have been operational for three years and have demonstrated a high success rate. They are continuing to develop their practice and approach and have some exciting developments planned for the following year.

This team works as part of the wider service with a focus on achieving stability for children in care. This service is an exciting and enjoyable place to work. We have a strong culture of learning and support.

You will receive regular supervision, training and development opportunities.

This post is most suited to someone trained in delivering evidence-based parenting interventions, such as Incredible Years or Parenting Plus Adolescents Programme (PPAP), and someone who has experience of working with children and families.

Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
