Job description: at the University of Bath is inviting applications from candidates for an industry-funded Research Associate position in Applied 2D Nanomaterials.
The successful candidate will undertake research and development activities in the development of high TRL graphene enhanced coatings. The project is being conducted in collaboration with a leading industry partner and seeks to deliver a novel engineering solution to creating graphene enhanced coatings.
The successful applicant will spend a significant proportion of the project embedded at the industrial collaborator (Filton, Bristol) and will be expected to work on the University campus having access to resources, networks, opportunities, expertise and facilities at both institutions. You will have the opportunity to design entirely new experiments and will develop a blended range of nanomaterial production processes, physical characterisation, and advanced coating solutions.
Applicants should be interested in nanomaterials and nanotechnology with a preference for experimental work. You will be a central member of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, growing applied research group producing globally impactful technological solutions through the development of applied nanotechnologies. We expect applicants to possess:
- A background in nanomaterial growth and advanced metrology
- Be able to communicate effectively with the project partner
- Be able to find innovative engineering solutions.
- Broad technical and analytic skills
- A PhD or an equivalent professional qualification and significant relevant experience in either Chemistry, Electronic Engineering, Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or allied STEM subject.
