An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker/Personal Assistant to join Milestones Trust. We are a not-for-profit charitable organisation with a 35 year history of offering person-centred support to vulnerable people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia.
£9.60 per hour + excellent benefits
30 Hours per week
*To be a driver and able to drive the service vehicles is essential to this role.
A rare opportunity has just emerged to join our very friendly, enthusiastic and supportive team at Lower Hanham Road.
We support 5 young adults to develop independent living skills in all aspects, from social and leisure to their health and wellbeing. You will help these tenants to meet their needs and fulfil their aspirations and provide support with daily living tasks such as washing, shopping, cooking etc.
We pride ourselves with being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within Milestones Trust.
With current restrictions the support is mostly focused on emotional support and accompanying the PWS in safe activities such as walks or exercise. We continue to provide support to help maintain peoples’ tenancies and to attend any essential appointments.
The LHR team works a variety of shift patterns in accordance with the lifestyles of our tenants. You will need to follow support plans and uphold an effective and innovative practice in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures.
The team at LHR provides 1:1 support and core (shared and overnight sleep-in support) to the tenants.
Shift pattern working on a 4 week rota:
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and person centred values, with a positive can-do attitude, who will work well within the team, as well as using your initiative.
The successful candidate will be a good listener, able to communicate effectively with the tenants, as well as all the social care professionals involved in their support, and have a genuine desire to play a key role in the lives of five young people, finding new ways to promote their independence.
