We’re in the commissioning phase for our new multi polymer plastic recycling plant in Avonmouth near Bristol. We have a new opportunity for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician to join our shift team. This role will involve working an average of 38.5 hours, on a 2 days on / 2 nights on / 4 days off shift pattern.
Our new world class facility is expected to process 81,000 tonnes of PET, HDPE and PP plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays in its first year of operation, rising to 89,000 tonnes in year three. This will produce 60,000 tonnes of recycled plastic in year one, rising to 63,000 tonnes in year three.
You will be responsible for the pre-planned and reactive maintenance activities of all the EC&I equipment at the site, whilst providing support to other disciplines as necessary using your existing experience and skills. Ensuring that maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the plant, you will carry out fault diagnostics and rectify issues as required, manage calibration records and implement instrument calibrations.
As part of this role, you will also assist in the coordination of contractors as required and ensure a safe and efficient working environment for both you and your colleagues.
Our ideal Electrical Control & Instrumentation Technician will have experience in:
- EC&I maintenance of process/manufacturing industry.
- Calibration and fault finding of plant items.
- Working with Computerised Maintenance Management systems .
- DCS/SCADA experience.
Requirements for the role:
- Appropriate technical qualifications i.e. City & Guilds/NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- An awareness of environmental and health and safety issues and their impacts.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Fully conversant with instrument loop drawing and P&IDs.
- Excellent proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
