We are nearing the comissioning phase for our new Plastic Recycling Plant in Avonmouth near Bristol and we are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to complete our new day shift team, working 42.5 hours between Monday and Friday.
Our new world class facility is expected to process 81,000 tonnes of PET, HDPE and PP plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays in its first year of operation, rising to 89,000 tonnes in year three. This will produce 60,000 tonnes of recycled plastic in year one, rising to 63,000 tonnes in year three.
You will be responsible for the pre-planned and reactive maintenance activities, whilst delivering improvement projects leading to increased plant reliability and cost reduction. As part of the wider Maintenance team, you will ensure that all plant and equipment on sites is modified and improved, as necessary, to maximise equipment availability and performance whilst still achieving output levels required to meet production demands
Using your existing experience and skills, you will contribute to problem solving workshops, providing engineering expertise to identify root causes of failures and subsequent improvement actions and support other disciplines as necessary.
As part of this role, you will also assist in the co-ordination of contractors as required and ensure a safe and efficient working environment for both you and your colleagues.
Our ideal Mechanical Maintenance Technician will have:
- Have experience in a process, manufacturing or similar industry.
- Worked with Computerised Maintenance Management systems
- Understanding of Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and their impact
Requirements for the role:
- Appropriate technical qualifications i.e. City & Guilds/NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent proven fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Flexible approach and be able to cover shifts if required.
