We are about to move to the commissioning phase of the UK’s largest polymer reprocessing facility in Avonmouth near Bristol and have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Supervisor to join us on a 2 days / 2 nights / 4 days off shift pattern, with an average of 38.5 hours per week. To support the commissioning phase of the plant, we are offering an additional commissioning payment of up to £1500 to new employees who start their roles before 1st March 2022. Our new world class facility is expected to process 81,000 tonnes of PET, HDPE and PP plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays in its first year of operation, rising to 89,000 tonnes in year three. This will produce 60,000 tonnes of recycled plastic in year one, rising to 63,000 tonnes in year three.

Working in partnership with the Production Team, our EC&I Supervisors will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of day to day site maintenance, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner to the required standard with production downtime minimised. Providing engineering expertise as required, with the ability to communicate relevant information at all levels as well as making recommendations and influencing decision making will be an important part of this role.

Health and Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Our EC&I Supervisors will work within the guidelines of WorkSmart strategy, Health, Safety & Environmental regulations, Site Permit and other statutory regulations and ensure that the Maintenance Team remains compliant at all times.

Our EC&I Supervisors will have day to day responsibility for the EC&I Technicians, so the ability to lead and motivate others is essential. Supervising contract workers will also be part of this role, ensuring that work is completed to agreed timescales and scope.

The ideal EC&I Supervisor will have:

  • A background in a process, production or manufacturing environment, as well as the relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Completed apprenticeship (NVQ level 3) in an appropriate engineering skill or possession of a HNC/HND in a relevant discipline
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems, purpose and functionality, electrical/mechanical systems and safety.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy skills and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, with the ability to analyse data and produce detailed reports
  • A good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring
  • Full driving license
