Procurement Professional

Would you like to deliver Procurement expertise with BAE Systems Submarines? We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement Professional based at one our sites in Filton or Broad Oak, (Frimley can be considered).

As a Procurement Professional, you will be undertaking all aspects of procurement related activity including Commercially focused Contract Management and working on large long-term sub-contracts.

This is a very interesting role and will provide you with the opportunity to work on the Dreadnought programme, dealing with the underwater surveillance procurement. This is a great opportunity to work on High value, one off items & highly complex systems.

Your main responsibilities as a Procurement Professional will involve:

Commercially focussed contract management

Maintain SAP to ensure it is up to date & compliant

Progress reviews with all suppliers

Working on large, long-term subcontracts

Managing contract change & obsolescence

Monitoring supplier performance & making necessary interventions to manage performance by liaising with suppliers

Reporting within the team & presenting information to senior stakeholders (director level potentially)

Escalating issues where required

Your skills and qualifications:

Strong negotiation skills

PowerPoint & presentation skills

Ability to work with a complex level of requirement

Good Supply Chain skillset with a Project Management awareness

Experience of managing major subcontracts while stepping through various processes

Engineering/Manufacturing background (desirable – not essential)

CIPS (Desirable not essential)

Maritime – Submarines

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.

The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world’s most complex engineering challenges.
