Would you like to work with the latest development for our Type 26 Global Combat Ships? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer – Requirements & Acceptance at our site in Scotstoun or Filton.

As a Senior Engineer – Requirements & Acceptance (R&A) you will be assisting Subject Matter Experts to develop and gather evidence to demonstrate that the Whole Ship Requirements have been met.

This role will provide you with an exciting opportunity to be involved across the whole of the Combat System at the forefront of acceptance testing, as T26 moves from the design phase into physical testing and trials. You will have the potential to gain experience across multi-platform domains with the opportunity to work with our core customer (MOD).

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer (R&A) will involve:

  • Assisting with scoping and specification of Assurance and Acceptance evidence
  • Developing and seek approval from Technical Authorities and Approval Authorities of the Assurance and Acceptance Forms.
  • Managing the importation of supplier Verification information to the R&A Database (DOORS) & support in the overall management of the Whole Ship Requirements Database (WSRD).
  • Establishing and maintain the body of evidence confirming that all Legal and Regulatory (L&R) obligations have been met, interfacing with the L&R teams to remain aligned with their database.
  • Maintaining list of L&R owners and Legislation & Standards used on the project
  • Generating metrics and reports that cover the aspects above.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

  • Clear understanding of R&A life cycle/ process and requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing technical requirements and acceptance activities
  • Data manipulation and publishing using Excel

Desirable

  • Knowledge of DOORS database and ideally DXL and RPE (although training can be provided)
  • Good understanding of T26 Combat Systems (although training can be provided)
  • Awareness of overarching Corporate and Naval Ships process and guidance
  • L&R knowledge and/ or experience
