A great opportunity to join our team at Avonmouth – Bristol. The Trays & Banks Operative plays a key role in getting our products to the right place at the right time. Our site has an enviable delivery record; one we work hard to maintain.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Able to unload and reload baskets onto vehicles in line with arrival and departure schedules
  • To work with a team of highly motivated and experienced Trays and Banks and Traywash Operatives
  • Provide cover when on nights for traywash operatives during break times.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • To comply with Health and Safety regulations, as laid down by the bakery to ensure the safety of themselves and others
  • Offloading of baskets from vehicles using MHE
  • To operate the Traywash for the cleaning of bread baskets and ensure these are delivered to manufacturing
  • To safely operate equipment such as forklift trucks and isolate machinery
  • To ensure that cleaning chemicals are used and maintained
  • External working in adverse conditions
  • The movement of baskets using correct manual handling techniques
  • To report all faults of cleaning equipment to the supply chain FLM
  • To complete pre-start checks at the beginning of each working shift
  • To make an active and positive contribution to the site Logistics Team
  • To undertake any necessary training for the post
  • To comply with any reasonable request given by a member of the site management team

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Fork Lift Truck experience
  • Previous machine operation experience
  • Willingness to undertake and put into practise Health and Safety procedures to comply with legislation.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of basket wash operations
  • Relevant qualification to at least basic food hygiene
  • Food Allergen awareness
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safety essentials

Location: Based in Avonmouth

Type of role: Full Time, Permanent – Shift Work (days (6am-6pm) and nights 6pm-6am))

Reporting to: Supply Chain FLM

Salary: £22,895
